node.name: &quot;ubuntu&quot; 
instead of
node.name: ubuntu
caused an error when I tried to restart it (ES version = 8.17.1)
sudo systemctl restart elasticsearch                                                                                 
Job for elasticsearch.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See &quot;systemctl status elasticsearch.service&quot; and &quot;journalctl -xeu elasticsearch.service&quot; for details.
